One of my first paintings created after becoming a mother for the first time. I have used a palette knife to create intense colour and bold texture. I particularly loved painting the dahlias and hydrangea. The hints of turquoise really bring the piece energy and make it pop. It is called "Grandmother's Garden' and is based upon a dreamy cottage garden on a warm, dusky Summer's evening.
