Ink Orchid Drawing

This orchid ink sketch was done from life from a beautiful orchid my auntie gave me. I experimented with different compositions to inspire me for a larger oil painting. I used a mixture of thick and thin lines, and also used a number of ink washes to build up the contrast.

Please note: Unfortunately the top left corner is ripped due to the way it was removed from the watercolour pad. Hopefully you find it even more charming like I do 😉
