Pink & green magnolia original artwork, oil painting on wood panel 16x23"

This colourful magnolia painting makes me feel like I am being enveloped by flowers. I wanted the colours to remain simple, using complementary greens and pinks, but I also added interesting pops of unusual colour. If you look closely enough you can see lilacs, oranges, and yellows. It was important to me to create a captivating composition for the painting, which I mapped out in the initial stages using diluted paint. With each layer, the painting became more complex and I'm really thrilled with the happy energy it conveys.
