Inspired by the climbing roses in my garden, this piece is all about softness — but not stillness. I was fascinated by how the petals open outward, lightening at the edges and deepening in tone as you peer inward. I painted this using loose, impressionistic brushwork, letting the forms melt slightly into one another to reflect how these blooms feel in the garden — light, romantic, and just slightly untamed. Some strokes are thick with texture, and if you look closely, you’ll see tiny peaks of paint catching the light.
