Little purple & pink magnolia original oil painting, painted on stretched canvas 10x12"

This painting has such thick texture, with heavy layers of paint that draw you in closer. These results are a sort of 3D experience, embellished with paint. I wanted to capture the bold, yet delicate beauty of magnolias in this painting. Working quickly to inject the painting with movement, I applied heavy, bold brush strokes with a brush and palette knife. The soft colours bring in the ethereal light that I wanted this piece to embody.
