This painting came together so organically. I love the muted tones of the hydrangeas, against the bold, striking dahlias. I used a palette knife against brush strokes, to create lots of texture. This brings a 3d value to the painting and gives it an impressionistic, tactile edge. It is a completely original piece of art - there's only one in the world.
